Licorice Ice Cream.
Used and appreciated in the East for thousands of years as a remedy for stomach pain and liver disorders, liquorice owes its virtues especially to the presence of flavonoids and glycyrrhizin (glycyrrhizin acid). The former has in fact antispasmodic effects on the stomach muscles, while glycyrrhizin acts as a potent anti-inflammatory. For this reason, liquorice facilitates digestion and protects of the gastric mucosa. The benefits of liquorice are also evident on the liver, heart and circulation.
